NEWS / HEADLINES: SSCA VOTES IN NEW BOARD MEMBERS... After several months of discussion, the Salt Springs Civic Association voted in new board members at the April Meeting. A new slate of officers was presented by Blondy Dykes and includes Karen Clifford for President, Blondy Dykes for Vice President, Stacey Hager for Treasurer, and Rhonda Benitez for Secretary. With little discussion, Dennis Chesser moved to accept the new officers and Dianne Burnsed seconded. The slate was approved by all members. Congratulations to the new officers and may they continue with productive work of the Salt Springs Civic Association. The complete minutes from the meeting are noted below.

SALT SPRINGS CIVIC ASSOCIATION -- April 19, 2010 In the absence of President Rusty Etheredge, Melvene Thomas-Wilson, Secretary, called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Dennis Chesser gave the opening prayer and members recited the Pledge. Minutes from the previous meeting were read by the secretary, and accepted. Treasurer Kathy Paskey reported our balance of $11,276.02. Lynn Ray sent an additional $168.00 for shirts sold at the Chili Cook-off and thanks to Cactus Jack's for $275.00 reimbursement to the Association for prices. Blondy presented a bill for $105.00 in materials for the repair and replacement of windows in the old Civic Association building being used for church services. Dennis Chesser moved to pay the bill, Joann seconded, and all members agreed. Kathy reported we received a clean water sample report from the county. Dennis commented on perhaps having a website connected to "goings on" in Salt Springs, concerning the Sheriff's Dept. Anything that could be put out to be aware of and events/people that

citizens may have concerns about. There will be more discussion in the future on this as he puts it together. Dennis also reported that he has spoken with Dennis Bush, of the Forest Service, who would like to come to our meeting and explain new ventures in the forest concerning the ATV trails. At some time, they hope to connect all the trails throughout the forest and are working toward that goal. Joann made a motion to contact him and Blondy seconded, all members agreed. Last on our evening agenda, Blondy presented a new slate of officers as has been discussed for several months. Presented were Karen Clifford for President, Blondy Dykes for Vice President, Stacey Hager for Treasurer, and Rhonda Benitez for Secretary. With little discussion, Dennis Chesser moved to accept the new officers and Dianne Burnsed seconded. The slate was approved by all members.
