CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK ~ Although revival of the Annual Christmas Parade was the plan, due to permitting issues, a street parade will not be a reality in Salt Springs for 2010. We are, however, looking forward to a revival in 2011, so start planning your entry now! Instead, for 2010, we're having "Christmas in the Park"... a FREE fun-filled day for the Community complete with a 'Mini-Parade', Live Music, Holiday Refreshments, and Santa Claus will be on hand to distribute Gifts to all the Kids! We'll also be lighting the Community Christmas Tree, which will be lit each evening from now through the New Year -- Be sure to drive by the Park, after dark, to see it! For photos from Christmas in the Park, including shots of the kids with Santa, visit our website at www.SaltSpringsFL.com... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

THE GOLDEN YEARS ~ Recent studies have found that people 50 years and older are happier and more content than those in the 18 to 24 age range... and, it is being said that "Generation Y" is becoming known as "Generation Why-Are-We-So-Bummed-Out". This study concluded that 44% of Americans 65 and over, plus 37% of those ages 50 to 64, said they were "happy" -- that compared to just 26% of those ages 18 to 24. So, being 'older' might just have its advantages after all!
